Statement: Layer upon layer of sinuous curved strips create a playful sense of depth. It’s an invitation to see what’s beneath the surface and wonder about the direction one may choose.

Process: Three different values and a variety of colours were used to create “skinny strips” in each block. A fourth value and several colours were used randomly in some blocks or between sets of blocks. The fifth value of strips overlaid the whole piece providing contrast to the lighter curved strips with the layers adding a sense of depth. More fun exploring grid formations

Materials: hand dyed and commercial cottons

Techniques: Machine pieced and quilted, fused machine applique
